Abstract

Dr. Saeed Akhtar Durrani is actually a physicist and astrologer who belongs to the city of Faisalabad, Pakistan. He went to Europe to pursue a Ph.D. He received degrees from Cambridge and Birmingham universities. He was associated with the teaching department of physics at Cambridge University until his death. This physics scientist at the University of Birmingham also received the honor of being included by the Royal Society of England among the eight scientists who worked on rock samples from the moon. He was also a writer, poet, researcher and Iqbal scholar, but his well-known position in literature is that of Iqbal scholar. He made Iqbal science the subject of his research along with science while staying in Europe. He wrote two research books on Iqbal which are based on valuable rare and scarce information during Iqbal's stay in Europe, in the completion of which Dr. Rafi ud Din Hashmi played a key role.  This is his great achievement which will always be valued in Iqbal literature. Despite living abroad, Dr. Durrani not only remained connected to the culture, traditions, values, and literature of his country, but also worked day and night for its development and promotion. He brought glory to his country and nation. In recognition of this illustrious son's brilliant efforts in science and literature, the Government of Pakistan also awarded him the Sitara-e-Imtiaz and Tamgha-e-Imtiaz. More than three hundred of his research papers have been published. He also worked at the Nuclear Center in Britain (3). Dr. Saeed Akhtar Durrani served as the Chairman of the Iqbal Academy (UK) from 1987 to 2015.
