Abstract

Sughra Mehdi is well known personality of Urdu Mere literature. Her real name is Imamat Fatima. She was born in Bhopal, Madhya Pardesh on 8th August, 1937 and died in Delhi, India on 17th March, 2014. Sughra Mehdi had keen interest in literature from a very early age. She was also a strong advocate of Jamia’s secular and liberal status. Sughra Mehdi was famous as a short story writer, novelist, researcher, critic and travel writer. She wrote many books such as “Sair Ker Dunya Ki Ghaphil”, “Mekhanon Ka Pata”, “Pabh Jolan”, “Pathar Ka Shahzada”, “Jo Wo Raja Ke Nahi”, “Jo Bache Hen Sang Sameet Lo”, “Akbar Ki Shairi Ka Tanqeedi Mutalia”, “Dhund”, “Be Khatar Kood Pare” , “Adbi Mazameen” and “Akbar Ilahabadi” etc.
