Indexing: An Exploratory Study

Abstract

This paper is about the definition, meaningfulness, scope and of methodology of indexation. It discusses the cardinal components of an index. It relates that the prime purpose of an index is to inform the reader about all the information given into book without further delay. This paper explains that an index depicts intra-relationship of all the contents include into the book. It serves the role of contents contained in the book. The indexation of literary magazines is not less that manuscript-writing or archive preserving. The indexation process has become very important in the current era owing to its huge pre-occupations. It is very significant and useful activity. Nowadays, it has become an important item of the library.
