Prison Scenario in the Fiction of “Ghulam Fareed Kathia”

Abstract

“Ghulam Farid Kathia” was born in 1939 a village in SAHIWAL district “Murad kay  Kathiay”.He has been playing his role in literature and politics as well. In his fiction, the problems of backward classes, exploitation and oppression by the landlords have been a great reflection. As every politician in Pakistan has to eat prison air at least once, he has also been sent to prison many times, the effects of which are also seen in his fiction. His book was published “LAMHOO KE QAID” in 2008, in this book a large number of stories are on the subject of prison conditions and their problems. His stories describe not only the prison environment but also hidden crimes. These stories are also seen in psychology and scenes of deep thought. He has reflected the heinous factors behind the treatment of workers, their disrespect and the kindness of the landlords.
