Abstract

Munir Niazi is an eminent poet of modern era. His new and unique nature of poetry is well commended by the poetry lovers. It is basically the true reflection of his personality, sad feelings, fears, superstitions and loneliness. It is believed that the poets usually cling to some literary movements, but it is not completely true for Munir Niazi. Although his poetry reflects the few effects of these movements yet he is quite successful to maintain his egoism and individuality in his character and creations. The style of his poetry reflects the local Hindi and Urdu diction. He is not inclined to suffocate his poems with foreign diction or ideas, it rather reflects his deep-rooted adherence to his land, connection to mythological tradition and affinity to values and culture. His poetic style is rich with similes, symbols, imagism, metaphor, impersonation, imagination and heartfelt feelings.
